GUGGUL

Comminphora mukul is a tree resin, shown in western studies to be as effective as western drugs in lowering cholesterol, but with no side effects. In fact unlike the cholesterol-lowering drugs, which can lower your cholesterol to dangerous levels, Guggul lowers cholesterol only to normal levels and maintains normal levels as long as one takes it. One of its original functions was for weight loss, as this herb detoxifys fat cells. Guggul-Lip is combined with Triphala, Vitamin B-6 and Folic acid.

TRIPHALA

Constipation is such a common complaint in America. Many use coffee and laxatives to keep things moving. In Ayurveda there is an herb that helps to restore normal function to the intestinal tract. It has three herbs combined. It is called Triphala. The first is Amalaki which helps to repair damaged cells on the intestinal wall. Next is Bibhitaki which helps to remove mucus build up where bacteria, yeast and parasites can proliferate. The last is Haritaki which acts as a bowel tonifier rather than a laxative. I have given this herbal combination to patients for both constipation and diarrhea as it is a balancer for the intestines rather than a habit forming laxative.
